Cel-Fi SOLO introduction
The Cel-Fi SOLO is a relatively new product available in the UK. The sleek design and easy installation make this the ideal solution for homes, small offices, retail environments and restaurants. Taking its engineering to the next level, Cel-Fi SOLO has two 4G radios embedded so it can relay twice the 4G bandwidth in a single unit.
Cel-Fi SOLO comes with a whip antenna and patch antenna which is very simple to install. A single system will provide up to 100dB of gain in in-door spaces up to 1,400m². The versatility of this system provides you with the option to expand coverage, with the help of professional installers, by connecting it to multiple antennas and additional SOLO units.
Cel-Fi SOLO comes in a sleek, white box measuring 160 x 160 x 130mm. The Cel-Fi’s IntelliBoost baseband processor is the first six-core processor which is designed to specifically optimise the indoor transmission and reception of 3G/4G wireless signals for voice and data. The unit includes two SMA Female sockets which connect the external and internal antennas.
The system requires at least one bar of signal outside your building. Cel-Fi SOLO effectively takes whatever signal is available, amplifies it and redistributes the signal internally within the building. By placing one antenna (the donor signal) near the window, it locates the signal outside and relays it to the server antenna to provide mobile signal indoors.
For the best results, ensure that the donor and server antenna(s) as separated as much as possible. Antenna separation can be achieved with either physical distance or by having structures (like a wall) between the antennas.
Cel-Fi WAVE is the software application used for registering, setting-up, remotely monitoring, and updating Cel-Fi products. It provides a quick glance dashboard of signal strength, network operator, boost level and coverage type. From this app, you can switch network operator, update software and locate the optimal antenna placement.

- Determine where you require coverage in your home or building.
- Place the main unit where the signal exists. This will be the donor signal that will bring the external signal into the building.
- Attach the whip and the patch antennas.
- Plugin the Cel-Fi SOLO device to a power source. Check that the LED light on the front is blinking.
- The Cel-Fi WAVE app can be used to optimize the Cel-Fi SOLO’s performance. The antenna locations can be adjusted or relocated, and system performance quickly assessed via the Cel-Fi WAVE app.
